HIDE TROPARIONAll venerable and holy Fathers of the Holy Mount Athos, Troparion, in Tone I
In hymns let us honor the fathers of the wilderness of Athos, the angels in
the flesh, the confessors and the venerable, holy hierarchs and martyrs; and,
emulating their virtues, let us cry aloud, saying: Glory to Him who hath
glorified you! Glory to Him Who hath crowned you! Glory to Him Who hath shown
you to be our intercessors amid tribulations!
Kontakion, in Tone IV, "O Thou Who wast of Thine own will lifted up on the
Cross..."
Come ye, let us all praise the fathers who have made Mount Athos a heaven,
who have shown forth therein an angelic life, and have assembled a multitude of
monks; and let us cry out unto them: deliver us from every misfortune and
temptation, O ye multitude of the venerable, boast of Athos.
All Russian Saints, Troparion, in Tone VIII
The land of Russia doth offer Thee, O Lord, all the saints who have shone
forth in it, as the beauteous fruit of Thy salvific splendor. By their
supplications and through the Theotokos preserve Thou the Church and our land in
profound peace, O most Merciful One.
Kontakion, in Tone III, "Today the Virgin... "
Today the choir of the saints who have pleased God in our land standeth forth
in the Church and invisibly prayeth to God for us. With them the angels give
glory, and all the saints of the Church of Christ celebrate with them; for all
together they entreat the pre-eternal God for us.
Troparion of the Sunday, Tone I
When the stone had been sealed by the Jews; / while the soldiers were guarding Thy most pure
Body; / Thou didst rise on the third day, O Savior, / granting life to the world. / The powers of
heaven therefore cried to Thee, O Giver of Life: / Glory to Thy Resurrection, O Christ! / Glory to
Thy Kingdom! / Glory to Thy dispensation, O Thou Who lovest mankind.
Hymn to the Theotokos, Tone I
When Gabriel announced to Thee, O Virgin, Rejoice! / with that word the Master of all was
incarnate in Thee, O Holy Ark. / As the righteous David said, / Thy womb became more spacious
than the heavens, bearing Thy Creator. / Glory to Him Who took abode in Thee! / Glory to Him
Who came from Thee! / Glory to Him Who freed us by being born of Thee!
Kontakion of the Sunday, Tone I
As God, Thou didst rise from the tomb in glory, / raising the world with Thyself. / Human
nature praises Thee as God, for death has vanished! / Adam exults, O Master! / Eve rejoices,
for she is freed from bondage, and cries to Thee: / Thou art the Giver of Resurrection to all,
O Christ!
St. David of Thessalonica, Troparion, Tone VIII
In thee, O father, that which was created according to the image of God was
manifestly saved./ For accepting thy cross thou didst follow after Christ,/ and
praying thou didst learn to disdain the flesh,/ for thou didst transcend it to
take care of thine immortal soul.// Wherefore, with the angels doth thy soul
rejoice, O venerable David.
Kontakion, Tone I, "The choir of the angels..."
An ever-blossoming garden, bearing the fruits of the virtues,/ thou didst
appear in the tree of a grove, like a right melodious bird;/ and receiving the
Lord, the tree of life, in thy heart all the more,/ and cultivating it like a
garden, O divinely wise one,/ thou hast thereby nurtured us with grace.// Pray
thou ever in our behalf, O most blessed David.
Appearance of the Tikhvin Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, Troparion, in Tone IV
Today thy most precious icon hath shone forth upon us in the air like the
all-radiant sun, O Mistress, illumining the world with rays of mercy; and great
Russia, reverently receiving it from on high as a gift of God, glorifieth thee
as the Mistress of all, O Mother of God, and joyously magnifieth Christ our God
Who was born of thee. Him do thou entreat, O Lady, Queen and Theotokos, that He
preserve all the cities and lands where Christians live, unharmed by all the
assaults of the enemy, and save those who with, faith worship before the
all-honored image of Him and thee, O Virgin who knewest not wedlock.
Kontakion, in Tone VIII
O ye people, let us make haste to the Virgin Theotokos and Queen, giving
thanks to Christ our God; and gazing with compunction at her miraculous icon,
let us fall down and cry out to her: O Mary our Mistress, visiting this land in
the miraculous appearance of thy precious icon, save our Orthodox hierarchs and
all Christians in peace and prosperity, showing us to be inheritors of the life
of heaven. For to thee do we cry with faith: Rejoice, O Virgin, salvation of
the world!
