HIDE TROPARIONThe Second Sunday of Great Lent. St. Gregory Palamas, Troparion, Tone
VIII
Light of Orthodoxy, pillar and doctor of the Church, adornment of monks,
invincible champion of theologians, O Gregory the wonderworker, praise of
Thessalonica, preacher of grace, ever pray that our souls may be saved.
Kontakion, Tone II
Organ of wisdom, holy and divine, bright clarion of theology, we praise thee
in harmony, O divine speaker Gregory: But as a mind standing before the First
Mind, direct our mind to Him, father, that we may cry: Rejoice, preacher of
grace!
Kontaklon of the Sunday, Tone IV
Now is the time for action, judgment is at our doors. So let us rise and
fast, and let us offer tears of compunction with almsgiving, crying: We have
sinned more than the sand of the sea. But forgive us all, O Creator, that we may
receive incorruptible crowns.
Troparion of the Sunday, Tone V
Let us, the faithful, praise and worship the Word, / Co-eternal with the Father and the Spirit,
/ born for our salvation from the Virgin, / for He willed to be lifted up on the cross in the
flesh, / to endure death / and to raise the dead by His glorious resurrection.
Hymn to the Theotokos, Tone V
Rejoice, O impassable gate of the Lord! / Rejoice, O wall and protection of those who run to
you! / Rejoice, O unshakable refuge! / Rejoice, O Virgin Mother of your God and Creator! /
Do not cease praying for those who praise you and worship your Son. (1x)
Blessed be the name of the Lord, henceforth and forever more.
Kontakion of the Sunday, Tone V
Thou didst descend into hell, O my Savior, / shattering its gates as almighty; / resurrecting
the dead as Creator, / and destroying the sting of death. / Thou hast delivered Adam from the
curse, O Lover of Man, / and we all cry to Thee: "O Lord, save us!"
St. Timothy of Symbola in Bithynia; St. Eustace, Archbishop of Antioch,
Troparion, in Tone IV
O God of our fathers,/ deal with us ever according to Thy meekness./ Deprive
us not of Thy mercy,/ but through their supplications// direct our life in
peace.
Kontakion for the Venerable One, Tone IV "Thou hast appeared today"
Shining forth from the east like a most radiant star,/ thou hast shone the
virtues of thy wonders in the hearts of the faithful,// O most blessed
wonderworker Timothy.
"Kozelshchanskaya" Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, Troparion, in Tone III
O most hymned Theotokos, hope of the world, grant unto us in abundance gifts
of grace from the inexhaustible well-spring of thy wonder-working icon, that we
may cry out in thanksgiving: Rejoice, O most merciful Queen and Mother of
Christians!
Kontakion, in Tone I
As thy divine Son lifted the paralytic from his bed by His word alone, so
also didst thou raise up in an instant the ailing maiden. Wherefore, have pity
now on thy people, who offer thee faith and fervent tears; and grant their every
petition which is for the good, protecting them from all misfortunes, that we
may all cry aloud: All things are possible for thee! O Mother of God, save us!
