HIDE TROPARIASunday of the Paralytic, Troparion, Tone V
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling on death by death, and on those in the tombs bestowing life.
Kontakion, Tone III
By Thy divine presence, O Lord, raise my soul which is terribly paralyzed by
all kinds of sins and misguided actions, as of old Thou didst raise the
paralytic, that saved I may cry to Thee: O compassionate Christ, glory to Thy
power.
Troparion of the Sunday, Tone III
Let the heavens rejoice, / let the earth be glad! / For the Lord has shown might with His arm,/
He has trampled down death by death. / He has become the first-born of the dead. / He has
delivered us from the depths of hell, / and has granted the world great mercy!
Hymn to the Theotokos, Tone III
We praise you as the mediatrix of our salvation, / O Virgin Theotokos. / For your Son, our
God, Who took flesh from you, / accepted the passion of the cross, / delivering us from
corruption as the Lover of man.
Kontakion of the Sunday, Tone III
On this day Thou didst rise from the tomb, O Merciful One, / leading us from the gates of
death. / On this day Adam exults as Eve rejoices; / with the prophets and patriarchs they
unceasingly praise / the divine majesty of Thy power!
Translation of the relics of St. Nicholas, Troparion, in Tone IV
The day of splendid solemnity is come; the city of Bari rejoiceth, and with
it the whole world doth exult with hymns and spiritual songs. For today is the
sacred feast of the translation of the precious and much-healing relics of the
hierarch Nicholas the wonderworker. For like the never-setting Sun, he shineth
with brilliant beams of light, driving away the darkness of temptations and
misfortunes from them that cry out with faith: Save us, O Nicholas, for thou
art our intercessor!
Kontakion, in Tone III, "Today the Virgin..."
Thy relics have moved like a star, from the East unto the West, O holy
hierarch Nicholas; and the sea hath been sanctified by thy passage. The city of
Bari receiveth grace through thee, for thou hast been shown forth for us as a
wonder-worker: illustrious, most wondrous and merciful.
Holy Prophet Isaiah, Troparion, Tone II
Celebrating the memory/ of Thy prophet Isaiah O Lord,// through him do we
entreat Thee, save Thou our souls.
Holy Martyr Christopher, Troparion, Tone IV
Arrayed in vesture dyed with thine own blood,/ thou standest before the King
of hosts, O ever-memorable Christopher;/ therefore, with the incorporeal ones
and the martyrs thou dost sing thrice-holy and awesome melodies.// Wherefore, by
thy supplication save thou thy flock.
Kontakion of the Prophet, Tone II: "The tomb and mortality..."
Receiving the gift of prophecy,/ O martyred Prophet Isaiah, thou herald of
God,/ thou didst explain to all the incarnation of the Lord,/ exclaiming aloud
to the ends of the earth:// "Behold, a Virgin shall conceive in her womb!"
