All venerable and holy Fathers of the Holy Mount Athos, Troparion, in Tone I
In hymns let us honor the fathers of the wilderness of Athos, the angels in
the flesh, the confessors and the venerable, holy hierarchs and martyrs; and,
emulating their virtues, let us cry aloud, saying: Glory to Him who hath
glorified you! Glory to Him Who hath crowned you! Glory to Him Who hath shown
you to be our intercessors amid tribulations!
Kontakion, in Tone IV, "O Thou Who wast of Thine own will lifted up on the
Come ye, let us all praise the fathers who have made Mount Athos a heaven,
who have shown forth therein an angelic life, and have assembled a multitude of
monks; and let us cry out unto them: deliver us from every misfortune and
temptation, O ye multitude of the venerable, boast of Athos.
All Russian Saints, Troparion, in Tone VIII
The land of Russia doth offer Thee, O Lord, all the saints who have shone
forth in it, as the beauteous fruit of Thy salvific splendor. By their
supplications and through the Theotokos preserve Thou the Church and our land in
profound peace, O most Merciful One.
Kontakion, in Tone III, "Today the Virgin... "
Today the choir of the saints who have pleased God in our land standeth forth
in the Church and invisibly prayeth to God for us. With them the angels give
glory, and all the saints of the Church of Christ celebrate with them; for all
together they entreat the pre-eternal God for us.
Troparion of the Sunday, Tone I
When the stone had been sealed by the Jews; / while the soldiers were guarding Thy most pure
Body; / Thou didst rise on the third day, O Savior, / granting life to the world. / The powers of
heaven therefore cried to Thee, O Giver of Life: / Glory to Thy Resurrection, O Christ! / Glory to
Thy Kingdom! / Glory to Thy dispensation, O Thou Who lovest mankind.
Hymn to the Theotokos, Tone I
When Gabriel announced to Thee, O Virgin, Rejoice! / with that word the Master of all was
incarnate in Thee, O Holy Ark. / As the righteous David said, / Thy womb became more spacious
than the heavens, bearing Thy Creator. / Glory to Him Who took abode in Thee! / Glory to Him
Who came from Thee! / Glory to Him Who freed us by being born of Thee!
Kontakion of the Sunday, Tone I
As God, Thou didst rise from the tomb in glory, / raising the world with Thyself. / Human
nature praises Thee as God, for death has vanished! / Adam exults, O Master! / Eve rejoices,
for she is freed from bondage, and cries to Thee: / Thou art the Giver of Resurrection to all,
Afterfeast of the Nativity of the Forerunner
O prophet and forerunner of the coming of Christ,/ we who honor thee with
love are at a loss how to praise thee worthily;/ for by thy glorious and honored
nativity/ thou didst loose the barrenness of her who gave birth to thee/ and the
muteness of thy father,/ and dost proclaim unto the world// the incarnation of
the Son of God.
Holy Martyred. Nun Febronia, Troparion, Tone IV
Thy ewe-lamb Febronia crieth out to Thee with a loud voice, O Jesus:/ "I love
Thee, O my Bridegroom,/ and, seeking Thee, I pass through many struggles:/ I am
crucified and buried with Thee in Thy baptism,/ and suffer for Thy sake, that I
may reign with Thee;/ I die for Thee that I might live with Thee./ As an
unblemished sacrifice accept me,/ who sacrifice myself with love for Thee// By
her supplications save Thou our souls, in that Thou art merciful.
Kontakion of the Martyr, Tone VI, "O helper..."
"O my Bridegroom, Jesus most sweet," cried Febronia,/ "it is not
difficult for me to follow Thee,/ for the sweetness of Thy love hath given wings
of hope to my soul,/ and the beauty of Thy mercy hath sweetened my heart,/ that
I might drain the cup of sufferings in emulation of Thee,/ that Thou mayest
worthily reckon me among the wise virgins who dance with Thee in Thy bridal
chamber."/ Wherefore, O venerable passion-bearer, honoring the struggles of thy
labor, we entreat thee:// Pray thou, that we not find the portals of the
bridal-chamber locked to us.
Kontakion of the Forerunner, Tone III
Today she who before was barren/ giveth birth unto the forerunner of Christ,/
and he is the fulfillment of all prophecy;/ for, laying his hand in the Jordan
upon Him Whom the prophets foretold,// he hath been shown to be the prophet,
herald and forerunner of the Word of God.
