HIDE TROPARIA

Troparion of the Sunday, Tone II —
When Thou didst descend to death, O Life immortal, / Thou didst slay hell with the splendor of Thy Godhead! / And when from the depths Thou didst raise the dead, / all the powers of heaven cried out: / O Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to Thee!

Hymn to the Theotokos, Tone II —
All beyond thought, all most glorious, / are your mysteries, O Theotokos. / Sealed in purity, preserved in virginity, / you were revealed to be the true Mother who gave birth to the true God. / Entreat Him to save our souls.

Kontakion of the Sunday, Tone II —
Hell became afraid, O Almighty Savior, / seeing the miracle of Thy Resurrection from the tomb! / The dead arose! Creation, with Adam, beheld this and rejoiced with Thee! / And the world, O my Savior, praises Thee forever.

Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical Council.
At the Blessing of the Loaves, the (troparion) "Virgin Theotokos, rejoice...," twice,
and then that of the fathers, in Tone VIII —

Most glorious art Thou, O Christ our God, Who hast established our fathers upon the earth as beacons, and hast thereby guided us all to the true Faith! O greatly Compassionate One, glory be to Thee! Once

Kontakion, in Tone VI —
The Son Who ineffably shone forth from the Father hath been born in two natures of a woman, and beholding Him we do not disdain to depict the form thereof. But, tracing it piously, we honor it in faith. Wherefore, the Church, holding to the true Faith, doth venerate the icon of the incarnation of Christ.

Martyrs Zenaida and Philonilla of Tarsus, Troparion, Tone IV —
Having finished the race and kept the Faith, through martyrdom ye were led to Christ, the Lamb and Shepherd, as reason-endowed ewe-lambs. Wherefore, with joyous soul we celebrate your holy memory today, magnifying Christ, O right wondrous Zinaida and Philonilla.

Kontakion, in Tone II —
O emulators of Stephen, the first among athletes, and fellow laborers with the physicians who charged no fee: for the sake of Christ, the Chief Cornerstone, ye were stoned to death, persecuted by hardhearted people; and having acquired boldness before the Holy Trinity, ye drive away the ailments of suffering men. O martyrs, beseech the merciful God, that we who honor your sufferings with faith may be saved.

Holy Apostle Philip of the Seventy, Troparion, Tone III —
O holy apostle Philip/ entreat the merciful God// that He grant to our souls remission of transgressions.

Venerable Theophanes the Confessor and Hymnographer, Bishop of Nicea, Troparion, Tone VIII —
O instructor of Orthodoxy, teacher of piety and purity,/ beacon for the whole world, divinely inspired adornment of hierarchs./ O most wise Theophanes by thy doctrines thou hast illumined all.// O harp of the Spirit, entreat Christ God that our souls be saved.

Kontakion of Theophanes (after Ode III), Tone II "Seeking the highest" —
Thundering forth the divine incarnation of Christ,/ thou didst utterly denounce the incorporeal foe,/ O wondrous Theophanes./ Wherefore, we all piously cry out to thee with faiths:/ Pray thou unceasingly in behalf of us all!

Kontakion of the Apostle, Tone IV "Having been lifted up" —
The most wondrous fisher of nations,/ conversor with the disciples of Christ,/ Philip, forechosen from among the apostles,/ doth today bestow a wealth of healing upon the world,/ and doth protect them that praise him from evil circumstances./ Wherefore, together we cry aloud to him:// Save us all by thy prayers, O apostle!

– "cross", "Polyeleos", "with the Polyeleos", "Polyeleos service", that is the type of service during which the "Polyeleos" (Praise/Magnification) is sung during matins (the majestic singing of the 134 and 135 psalms with verses); in addition, during this service there is a reading from the Gospel, the prokeimenon, gradual antiphons, the canon with 8 troparions, the praises and Great Doxology are sung, and during vespers "Blessed is the man" is sung (first "Glory" of the 1st kathisma), there is an entrance, Old Testament readings (parameia) and during lityia all of the verses may be sung to the saint.
– "doxology", "with doxology" during this service to the saint it is proper to sing the Great Doxology at the end of matins (in services of a lower rank, the doxology is read), also at this service are sung several Sunday Theotokions, sedalions after the kathisma (psaltery reading) to the saint, the katavasia during the canon, also at the end of matins are sung the praise verses, the Great Doxology, and the entire ending of matins follows the order of a feast.
– "six verse", "up to six"; all six stikhera of "Lord, I cry" are sung to the saint, there is a stikhera for "Glory" of the Apotischa for both vespers and matins; troparion to the saint, and the canon of matins is sung to the saint in six troparions.
